Through my experience as a certified hypnotherapist, I have found that the main reason why the diets have not helped you to create permanent weight loss changes is because you have not made a lifestyle change. Ok, so maybe you already understand that. Let me explain further. If a lifestyle change has not been made then your behaviors have not changed and if behaviors have not changed then your thoughts have not changed. If your thoughts have not changed then your perceptions and beliefs have not changed. Those perceptions and beliefs, I speak of, include beliefs about yourself, your body image, your self worth, and also the beliefs and perceptions about your relationship with food. The beliefs and perceptions related to the behaviors that are keeping you heavy can also be connected to a number of other issues: stress, anxiety, how you react to people, places and events around you, fears and phobias. Many of your perceptions/beliefs regarding these issues and others need to be changed on the fundamental level to create the behavioral changes necessary to eliminate the excess body fat.

Between 1986 and 1989, U.S. Treasury Secretary Designate Timothy Geithner was employed at Henry Kissinger, Brent Scowcroft and Lawrence Eagleburgers Kissinger Associates influence-peddling firm, which also employed George W. Bushs former special envoy to Iraq, L. Paul Bremer, during the early 1990s. A leading candidate for Commerce Secretary, Bill Richardson, also is a former employee of Kissinger Associates.

An expose, titled The `Kissinger Affair: A Look At Henry Kissingers Kuwaiti Connection, which appeared in the March 27, 1991 issue of a Lower East alternative newsweekly Downtown, began with the following quotation from the April 20, 1986 issue of the New York Times Magazine about Kissinger Associates during the years that Treasury Secretary Designate Geithner worked there:

It is very difficult to pin down what Mr. Kissinger and the others are really doing in the business end of their lives. None will say for attribution who their clients are or discuss the specifics of what they do, although they do talk about their work with the understanding that they not be identifiedKissinger Associates requires a clause in its contracts stating that neither the firm nor its clients will divulge a business connection

In 1991, T. Jefferson Cunningham III, according to Moodys International Manual, was on the board of directors of Treasury Secretary Designate Geithners former employer. That same year Kissinger Associates Director Cunningham was also a director of the Midland Bank of Britain and 10.5 percent of Midland Banks stock was owned by the government of Kuwait. And coincidentally, Geithners former boss at Kissinger Associates, Henry Kissinger, was not reluctant to use his special influence on behalf of his Midland Bank/Kuwaiti government business associates after August 1990 to push for the January 1991 Pentagon high-technology military attack on Iraq that led to thousands of Iraqi civilian casualties.

In the April 20, 1986 New York Times Magazine article, titled Kissinger Means Business: Corporate America is eagerly seeking Henry Kissingers insight and celebrity, the Times then-national security correspondent, Leslie Gelb, reported that the Midland Bank of Britain was also one of the special influence-purchasing clients of Kissinger Associates that paid Treasury Secretary-Designate Geithners former employer slightly more than $150,000 yearly for varying services. Gelb also noted that The other top members of the firm were Lieut. General Brent Scowcroft, President Fords National Security adviser, and Lawrence S. Eagleburger, who was an Under-Secretary of State in the Reagan Administration.

In the early 1990s, Treasury Secretary-Designate Geithners Kissinger Associates colleagues, Scowcroft and Eagleburger, were both high officials in the Bush I Administration. Scowcroft, a former Santa Fe International director who received personal payments from the Kuwaiti government-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) subsidiary in 1984, 1985 and 1986, was Bush Is national security affairs adviser. And Eagleburger was Bushs Deputy Secretary of State.

According to a profile of Scowcroft that appeared in the Times on Feb. 21, 1991, it was the presentation of Geithners former Kissinger Associates colleague at a National Security Council meeting on Aug. 3, 1990 that made clear what the stakes were, crystallized peoples thinking and galvanized support for a strong response to the Iraqi military occupation of Kuwait, which had led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians from either Pentagon military operations or U.S. economic sanctions since January 1991.

Kissinger Associates was established in 1982, four years before Treasury Secretary-Designate Geithner joined the firm, after Henry Kissinger secured a loan from EM Warburg, Pincus Company, an investment banking firm and when Treasury Secretary-Designate Geithner worked for Kissinger in the late 1980s the Kissinger Associates Manhattan office was located at 350 Park Avenue on the corner of 52nd Streetin the same building as Chase Manhattan Banks Commercial Bank of Kuwait subsidiary local office.

The buildings lobby at that time contained a computerized building directory of all the buildings tenants. But, according to New York Times then-national security correspondent Gelbs April 20, 1986 Kissinger Means Business article, Punch `K and you will not find Kissinger Associates, for Henry A. Kissinger still receives threats, so, for security reasons, you have to be invited to learn what floor his firm is on.

Kissinger Associates also had an office in Washington, D.C. of three researchers and four clerks which was headed by Scowcroft when Treasury Secretary-Designate Geithner worked for the firm. According to Times correspondent Gelb, only about 25 people then worked in both the Manhattan and Washington, D.C. offices of Kissinger Associates, including Mr. Kissingers bodyguards and Geithner.

In 1991 a Kissinger Associates spokesperson told me in a telephone interview that Geithners 1980s employer was an international consulting firm. But, according to the April 20,1986 New York Times Magazine article, Kissinger Means Business, although these consultants are not lobbyists in the strict sense of the word, some of them are involved in selling their influence at home and almost all do so abroad.

After you have compiled your website and hosted it, your primary concern is that it should be visited by, more and more people. For this, you try various tactics to promote your site. One way of promoting your website is to submit it with various search engines.

At times, you have submitted your website to the search engine, but you find that you are not indexed or in other words, your site is not appearing in the searches. There could be many reasons for it. Let's look at some of these reasons:

1. Allocate adequate time - After submission, indexing a website is a time consuming process. Some people in hurry to be indexed, ignore this time period and start expecting their site to appear in the search results, much before the time lapses. Actually, this index time ranges from one to eight weeks depending on the search engine. Some sites such as AltaVista also charge extra if you want to get your site indexed faster.

2. Use Paid Domains - If you have hosted your site on a free domain, you may come across problems in indexing your site. This is because nowadays the search engines either don't index free sites or index only a limited number of free sites. Therefore, it is always better to host your website on a paid domain with a paid service.

3. Select creditable hosting service: It is very important to host your website with a good hosting service. This is because if at any stage the search engine visits your website and finds that it is not functioning then your website will be simply removed from their database. Therefore, make sure your hosting service is a creditable one, which keeps your website up and running most of the time.

4. Frame-based site - Having a frame-based website can also be a roadblock. In a frame-based site, there are different pages in the same page. As a result, it can happen that your text page is indexed but not the menu page. To solve this problem, you should ideally have a non-frame based website. If not then you can try optimizing your frame-based website for a better result.

5. Low Ranking in Searches - It is quite possible that you are indexed on a search engine but you are not aware of it. This could be because your site is getting a very low ranking in the search results. Most people expect that their site to come up in the first few listings. As a result, if their site does not do so then they don't bother to look further and assume that their site is not indexed. Matters are not helped by the fact that most search engines don't inform you after indexing your website.

To get a good ranking in the search results it is important for you to optimise your website according to the search engine guidelines.

6. In-complete Website - Before submitting your website ensure that your site is complete and there are no missing pages. Otherwise, your website may not get indexed.

7. Avoid complicated pages - Sometimes in an effort to have a very dynamic website web developers use complicated scripts such as JavaScript and VB scripts etc. However, the search engines don't always handle these dynamic pages well. As a result, your site could suffer and get a low ranking in search engine results. Therefore, it is advisable to limit the use of such scripts on your site.

8. Link pages from home page - Some search engines follow the policy that they don't show pages which cant be accessed from the home page. To avoid this kind of a problem you can try to limit such pages or submit them separately.

9. Limit page size: Take care that your website pages don't become so heavy that they take a long time to load. In such a case, the search engine spider will not be able to fully index your content. Generally, it is recommended to keep your web pages around 50 k and with images etc. around 70 k. This criterion has been set particularly in view of the users still using the dial-up connection.

10. Link your site externally - Another guideline which some search engines such as Google follow is that they don't index sites which don't have external links with other sites. At times, they even allocate you a time period of around 30 days to get the external links. If you are not successful then your site may get pruned. 11. Maintain quality: Make sure that you keep a quality control over your website. This is particularly important in cases where you are submitting your website to directory site like Yahoo, Open Directory, Looksmart etc. This is because, at these sites, they have personnel who carefully analyze the submissions, and omit any, which do not have a good quality.

12. Search Engine spider blocks - If your website requires forms, passwords or registration for access then the search engine spiders will not be able to index it. This is also the case with sites having a searchable database. In such a scenario, you can try to submit those web pages on your site which are simple and don't have these complications.

13. Sharing IP - Nowadays another problem that you can face is that sometimes the website hosting services give the same IP to multiple websites. As a result, if any one of these websites, using the same IP is involved in any illegal dispute then the search engine de-bars the IP itself making all the associated sites suffer. Therefore, make sure that you have an independent IP and are not sharing it with anyone.

14. Submitting within limit: Some search engines have limits for accepting submissions, for a particular domain, per day. Therefore, before submitting check that you are within limit prescribed for your domain or your submission will go waste.

15. Limit non-indexable content: It is important that you submit only the kind of content that the search engines can index. For example, search engines cannot index embedded text, content in media files, Java applets or in XML coding.

16. Submit link pages separately: Search engines don't take the trouble to fully index your website. They will simply index, one or two links further than the page that you have submitted. Therefore, if you want some particular pages to be indexed it is advisable to submit them separately.

17. Avoid using spam - It is very important to develop your website with full sincerity. Spam, is very seriously looked down upon by the search engines. Make sure that your site is spam free and you don't use any tactic, which can be considered spam such as, excessive repetition of keywords etc.

18. Avoid redirecting: If your website is redirecting the viewer to another site then at times this can hamper your indexing process. This is because search engines are wary of being tricked by "cloaking" or IP redirection technology. If they find out that this is the case then you can be sure that they will not index your site.

19. Allow for fluctuations in index time: You will not believe it but there have been cases when the search engines, after indexing sites for some time suddenly stop doing so for months on end for no particular reason. They do restart the process after some time but the wait can get quite frustrating for the web developers. 20. Technical errors: Besides all these, there are also some technical reasons because of which websites don't get indexed. These may include technical bugs and errors that arise from the sheer magnitude of the submissions and re-submissions that people make.

21. Submit limited pages: Most search engines have some kind of limits for the number of pages that they will index for each site. The quantity varies from engine to engine. However, if your website is very popular then the search engines stretch this limit for you.

Keep all these guidelines in mind while you are submitting your website to any search engine and allocate ample time for the indexation process.

ive been reading quite a bit of bitter asian websites recently. some of them are humorous (bitterasianmen.com), some of them are really angry (angryasianmen.com). mostly stuff about how asian-americans get shafted in the media, workplace, life, hollywood etc. for example there was an article of under performing ethnic races. concessions are given to latinos, mexicans, negros. then it had an article on underperforming asians, which is a bit strange, but the gist of it was that asians are 'expected' to be naturally bright, so the stupid ones dont get enough help at school. lol. 'silent standards' that are expected of the entire race. it also pointed out that all the stragglers were pinoy. nar im joking haha. so anyway no concessions exist. little shit like that. its pretty much impossible to be an asian male in hollywood, asian females be much luckier because in the white mans eye, even the fugly ones are exotic. exotically fugly maybe. shit like this, is it petty? gets you a bit riled up sometimes. does this make me petty? sometimes i play the race card to get out of trouble, or to my advantage. does this make me a hypocrite? was the problem brought upon ourselves? or is it due to the general publics perception of asian males in general. as an asian-australians, do i really know your identity?

there was also this article on hollywood ripping of korean movies. my sassy girl, lake house, etc. my sassy girl went straight to dvd in the states, but i think its getting a general release here. which is stupid, because that means ill have to watch it.

Hey hey heyyyy. So last night was crazy. I took the always entertaining Damen bus over to Lisas and Susans (of Lambic Peach fame heyyy). I sat next to a flight attendant, a dwarf, the cast of ATL and Andre 3000. They were all super fun and we played word association games the whole ride. Eventually, we picked up Susan from work and went to the Girl Talk show early to do promo for Hollywood Holt (best rapper alive), who was opening the show. Hollywood played a great show, and I was so proud to watch a brand I helped build in action. Everyone was loving him, and I think we are really starting to build a solid following for him. After Hollywood, two acts played, both of which were unappealing to me (and everyone in the crowd), so I spent that time walking around, saying hi to different people. I always like going to shows like Girl Talk because I always see people I havent gotten to see for a while, so that was nice.
Then, right before Girl Talk went on, a few friends and I discovered that you needed this card to dance on stage during Girl Talk, and anyone who didnt have one couldnt get on. Long/embarrassing story short, I got on stage and it was such an amazing show. If you have ever been to a Girl Talk concert, you know the experience is slightly out of body, slightly religious, and very fun. You just kind of forget about everything and wild out. But as I was dancing next to 3 attractive girls and that one old guy who reads poems before Girl Talk/Dan Deacons shows, I was thinking: This is where I want to be. I want every night to be like this. 
Unfortunately, after GT it all went back to reality..in the form of yet ANOTHER shitty high school . As soon I got to the spot, everyone was either asleep, super high or leaving. I was told by a normally reliable source that the party was fun..little did I know that fun ends around 12 am. THIS is a perfect example of why I need a fake/why I need to be in college. So Im watching Tommy Boy and I mean he was in college for 9 years, got a D on every test..and still seemed like a pretty happy person. Sigh.

My flight from New York to Amman took 10 1/2 hours. The plane was far from full, so there was plenty of room to stretch out, but I still didnt fall asleep. The night went through stages, with the usual share of families going home, cranky kids, young singles. The woman in front of me - a Palestinian born in Jordan, living in Florida for the past 15 years and now going home to visit family - was downing Deltas wine, aiming to sleep for the whole trip but becoming super-friendly along the way with everyone in earshot. The flight attendants worked fairly leisurely; the one who was Lebanese - a man - did the translations into Arabic of the flight crews announcements. 
When the dog barked at least I think it was a dog I gave up trying to sleep and spent most of the rest of the trip reading my Lonely Planet tour book and reviewing yet again the bits of Arabic Ive learned and lost so many times before. I spent the past month and a half going through Rosetta Stone Arabic lessons and then reviewed the book I used when I took an adult education class a few years ago. Between that, and the grammar I learned back in college, what I know today is a disconnected morass. I catch more words now when I overhear conversations than I did two years ago, but I cant speak much. I can, however, read the alphabet when its not embellished, and I understand more words than in the past. If I could live with people for a while who didnt speak English I think Id forge ahead, but otherwise my memory is much too porous to hold on to much. Arabics complexities - mainly the departure of the many disparate dialects from the more formal structure I internalized 40 years ago - add to my frustrations.
Aside from the usual memory lapses of many people my age Ill be 60 in March, an age I no longer think of as ancient my own situation is complicated by my underlying medical issues. My multiple sclerosis remains at the least troubling end of the spectrum, and hasnt worsened since my diagnosis 14 years ago. I still have no motor problems, and function more or less the same as most people. But memory remains fluid, multi-tasking impossible, and fatigue fairly constant. My fatigue medication - Provigil - does wonders under my ordinarily non-strenuous existence, making it possible to go through the day more or less functional. But this trip, like most, is a pretty big departure from ordinary, and Im trying not to push myself more than what I think my limits are. So I walk in the morning, retreat and rest and write in the afternoon, then venture out once more.
Jet lag doesnt help. I thought I was over it last night, but woke about 4 am today, an hour before the nearby mosques early call to prayer would have woken me up anyway. It was actually pleasant lying there in the dark, listening to the melodic chanting on and off for 45 minutes, wondering how long Id go today before crashing.
On my uphill walk this morning, the hot morning sun already making me wonder if Id lost sight of my limits, the endless stream of taxis honking for my business were hard to resist. But I wanted to walk, knowing Id miss too much in speeding traffic. I planned to take a taxi back downtown after the coffee I hoped to find in Abdoun Circle, but was determined to wait until then.
Between the heat, the jet-lag, and my usual fatigue and increasing sense of dysfunction, since arriving here three days ago Ive been often out of sorts. I had a brief spell of stomach queasiness, and think I got dehydrated despite constantly drinking bottled water, but in general Ive been eating very little even though what Ive had has mostly been great. But being here on my own at the end of a difficult period back in the States sometimes makes my mind wander. Venturing out in my hot-weather clothing (but not shorts, in keeping with local custom), I think I must look and act pretty strange. The term queer old duck comes to mind, when had a different meaning. 
Walking around, I always have my camera, but I hesitate to use it when it feels too conspicuous, too intrusive. The camera pries, attracting suspicion, or at least stares. So I proceed inconsistently, walking down the street with camera in one hand, tour book and water bottle in the other, looking at what there is to see. Walking up hills that I suspect most people dont attempt, sometimes through residential neighborhoods where I stick out even more, adds to my sense of out-of-placeness. I would do better if I was comfortable with strangers more easily, if I could to glares more comfortably. But I forge on as best I can. 
Tomorrow morning I get on the bus to Israel, moving around more than Id like for the next week but ending up a week from today in Ramallah for the conference that was supposed to be in Gaza. Not getting into Gaza is disappointing, but Im looking forward to settling in someplace in Ramallah for about three weeks, unpacking my things I hate living out of suitcases, always packing and re-packing, never able to remember where things are (that memory/organizational dysfunction at its worst). Ill make short trips out of Ramallah, around the West Bank, to Jerusalem, maybe further but I wont have to bring all my stuff. 
Or at least thats the plan, which depends partly on finding a cheap place to stay and partly on whatever else comes along. If it works out, maybe Ill find a short-term Arabic tutor - someone who doesnt speak English would be good, though I doubt that will be easy.
Right now Im back in my hotel lobby, cooler and more comfortable than my room. But soon I need to start (re)packing for my trip in the morning, and figure out where to find a taxi to take me to the bus it leaves from someplace far west of downtown. By this time tomorrow I should be settled in my Nazareth digs for a night, or maybe two. The weather forecast is for 90 degrees Fahrenheit, way past my limit. A drag.

I went to log in to the hotels Internet access (no wifi here) but all I got was a screen saying the hotel hadnt paid its DSL bill. The staff says it should be back online soon. In the meantime I walked a few blocks to Welcome Internet, a place I used a couple of days ago. They had to twist their ethernet cable so it would work when connected to my laptop, and so far its holding.

Estimates of the post-devaluation (circa 19971998) wealth of the royal household range from 10 billion to 20 billion USD.[83] In August 2008 the magazine Forbes came out with its 2008 version of The World's Richest Royals. King Bhumibol took first place on the list with an estimated wealth of $35 billion.[84] A few days later the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand issued a statement that the Forbes report erred, attributing wealth owned by the Crown Property Bureau (CPB) solely to Bhumibol.[85][86] The wealth and properties of Bhumibol and the royal family are managed by the Crown Property Bureau and the Privy Purse. The CPB was established by law but is managed independently of the Thai Government.[69][87]

Through the CPB, Bhumibol and the royal family own massive amounts of land and equity in many companies. The CPB is the majority shareholder of Siam Cement (the largest Thai industrial conglomerate), Christiani Nielsen (one of the largest Thai construction firms), Deves Insurance (which holds a monopoly on government property insurance and contract insurance), Siam Commercial Bank (one of the largest Thai banks), and Shin Corporation (a major Thai telecommunications firm, through the CPB's holdings in Siam Commercial Bank). The CPB also rents or leases about 36,000 properties to third parties, including the sites of the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, the Suan Lum Night Bazaar, Siam Paragon and the Central World Tower. The CPB spearheaded a plan to turn Bangkoks historical Rajadamnoen Avenue into a shopping street known as the Champs-Élysées of Asia and in 2007, shocked longtime residents of traditional marketplace districts by serving them with eviction notices.[88] Bhumibol's substantial income from the CPB, estimated to be at least five billion baht in 2004 alone, is exempt from taxes.[89][88] The CPB receives many state privileges. Although the Ministry of Finance technically runs the CPB, it is alleged that decisions are made solely by Bhumibol. It is claimed that the CPB's annual report is for the eyes of Bhumibol alone.[88]

In addition, Bhumibol has numerous personal investments independent of the CPB. He is personally the majority shareholder of the Thai Insurance Company and Sammakorn, as well as many other companies.[90] Unsubstantiated rumors that Bhumibol also receives fees for handing out diplomas in university graduation ceremonies are indicative of the mean-spirited comments that are circulated by critics of the royalty.[91]

The CPB has a fleet of three aircraft for the use of the royal family, including a Boeing 737-800 and an Airbus A319. The newer Airbus had been purchased by the Thaksin Shinawatra government for his use, but after the 2006 coup, the junta offered it to the king. The other planes are used by members of the royal family.[92]

Lèse majesté Scope of the law

Although Bhumibol is held in great respect by many Thais, he is also protected by lèse majesté laws which allow critics to be jailed for three to 15 years.[93] The laws were toughened during the dictatorship of royalist Premier Tanin Kraivixien, such that criticism of any member of the royal family, the royal development projects, the royal institution, the Chakri Dynasty, or any previous Thai King was also banned.[94] Jail terms for Thai citizens committing lèse majesté are usually harsher than for foreigners. Social critic Sulak Sivaraksa has been charged several times with lèse majesté, but has always been acquitted. Politician Veera Musikapong was jailed and banned from politics for lèse majesté, despite the palace's opinion that the remarks were harmless. Frenchman Lech Tomacz Kisielwicz refused to switch off a reading light on a Thai Airways flight he shared with two Thai princesses and was jailed under lèse majesté for two weeks after his flight landed in Bangkok.[95] He was acquitted after apologizing to the King.

There is controversy over whether criticism of members of Bhumibol's Privy Council also qualifies as criticism of Bhumibol.[96] Police Special Branch Commander Lt-General Theeradech Rodpho-thong refused to file charges of lèse majesté against activists who launched a petition to oust Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda, claiming that the law only applied to members of the royal family.[97] Two days later, he was demoted by Police Commander Seripisut Temivavej.[98]

There was also controversy following the death of Princess Galyani Vadhana. The website of Same Sky Books, publishers of Fah Diao Kan magazine, was shut down by the government after comments on its bulletin board questioned claims made by the Thai media that the entire country was in mourning over the death. Comments were also made criticizing official calls for the public to wear black as a sign of mourning.[99]

Bhumibol himself stated that he was not above criticism in his 2005 birthday speech. "Actually, I must also be criticised. I am not afraid if the criticism concerns what I do wrong, because then I know. Because if you say the king cannot be criticised, it means that the king is not human," he said. "If the King can do no wrong, it is akin to looking down upon him because the King is not being treated as a human being. But the King can do wrong."[100] Despite this, few have dared to call for the repeal of the law. Any doing so have been accused of disloyalty and could also be charged with lèse majesté.[101] Political scientist Giles Ungpakorn noted that "the lèse majesté laws are not really designed to protect the institution of the monarchy. In the past the laws have been used to protect governments, to protect military coups. This whole [royal] image is created to bolster a conservative elite well beyond the walls of the palace."[102]

Political use of the lèse majesté law

Accusations of lèse majesté are often politically motivated. Premier Thaksin Shinawatra and his political opponent Sondhi Limthongkul both filed charges of lèse majesté against each other during the 20052006 political crisis. Thaksin's alleged lèse majesté was one of the stated reasons for the Thai military's 2006 coup.[103][104][105][106]

In 2005, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) issued arrest warrants for two Swedish citizens, Abdulrosa Jehngoh and Chipley Putra Jehngoh, claiming that their Manusaya.com website contained content insulting to Bhumibol.[107][108] Chipley Putra Jehngoh also held Malaysian and Thai citizenship and at the time lived in the Middle East. Abdulrosa Jehngoh was granted Swedish citizenship and lives in Sweden. The website was hosted in Canada and was linked to separatist organisation in southern Thailand or more specifically the website 'www.pulo.org' which incited separatist movement.[109]

Sondhi, a vocal opposition of Prime Minister Thaksin, often accused Thaksin and his affiliates of lèse majesté. In April 2007, A Bangkok criminal court sentenced Sondhi for defamation for claiming on his Muang Thai Rai Sapda talk show that Thaksin's Deputy Transport Minister, Phumtham Vejjayachai, was linked to the anti-royal Manusaya.com website.[110]

Academics have been investigated for lèse majesté for even questioning the role of the monarchy in Thai society. In 2007, Assistant Professor Boonsong Chaisingkananon of Silpakorn University was investigated for lèse majesté for asking students in an exam if the institution of the monarchy was necessary for Thai society and how it may be reformed to be consistent with the democratic system. The University cooperated with the police investigation, and even turned over students' answer sheets and the marks the professor gave them.[111]

Insults to Bhumibol's image

Acts deemed insulting to Bhumibol's image are also criminal offenses in Thailand. Charges may be filed by anybody, except for Bhumibol himself. In 2007, Oliver Jufer, a Swiss man, was sentenced to 10 years in jail for daubing black paint on portraits of Bhumibol while drunk.[112] The Thai press was requested not to publish any information about the case. "This is a delicate issue and we don't want the public to know much about it," noted chief prosecutor Manoon Moongpanchon.[113] The man originally pleaded innocent, but eventually pleaded guilty to five acts of lèse majesté. Foreign reporters were barred from the hearing.[114] Saprang Kalayanamitr publicly suspected that Jufer was hired to perform the vandalism and ordered a military investigation.[115] Jufer was pardoned by the king less than a month after his conviction.

Other insults to Bhumibol's image that have resulted in criminal complaints of lèse majesté and arrests include placing photographs of anybody above photographs of the King on websites and refusing to stand while the Royal Anthem is played at cinemas.[116][117]

Finally on Aug. 30, at the "House Lounge" in Vernon, Hector "Largo" Gonzalez and William Munz told the rest of the gang that "Doc" was stealing from them. They also pointed to tensions between the gang and La Eme and voted Cavazos "out bad" from the organization. "Out Bad" - sounds like a good title for the sequel.

BLOCK: Yes. The first picture I made was Skyscraper, with Bill Boyd and Alan Hale, the father of the present Hale. This picture cost $180,000; the next one I made for $80,000. They were building a dam beyond Pasadena at a place called Pacoima. The simple theory of that story, was that the two men on a construction gang drew a line down Main Street; all the women on one side of the line belonged to one man and then all the women on the other side belonged to the other. I needed five blondes; one of the blondes was Joan Bennett. I was interviewing blondes, and one day when a girl came in, I noticed she had her hat down on one side. Later, I realized it was to hide a scar. She had been with Mack Sennett and had had comedy training. I said, ll take your name and well see. As she walked out there was something about her. Of course, my friends always said it was the way she swung her hips, but it wasnt. I had an intuition about her, and I sent word to the casting department, Hire her.
HESS: Who was she?
BLOCK: She became a very famous actress. We had her in that picture. Later I had her in a small talking part and I said to Joe Kennedy, I want to develop her.
And he said, Go ahead.
Laura Hope Crews was a Broadway actress out there. I sent the young woman to Laura, saying, Look, I want you to teach her how to act, how to talk (talking was in then), how to move. She became a great actress. She later married Bill Powell and later Clark Gable. She was killed in a plane crash.
HESS: My wife would know. She always knows whos married to whom, but I dont.
BLOCK: She was a fine actress killed in a plane crash.
HESS: Carole Lombard?
BLOCK: Carole Lombard.

Who Was Ralph Block?:
He was an American writer/producer who started out at the Pathe studios in 1928 and produced five of its earliest talkies. Block moved next to Fox and in 1934 he was one of the staffers at Warner Bros. In the-mid 1930s he served as the first president of the Screen Writers Guild. In the 50s his liberalism landed him on the Hollywood blacklist and his last screen credit was the 1950 Jane Powell musical Nancy Goes to Rio (1950).

We stopped by Love Park O.G. Vernon Lairds spot in West Hollywood to say whats up and where Clyde Singleton was crashing while looking for a new spot. We had a million bags and three tired dudes so we hit up the Hollywood Heights Hotel to get settled. I later watched game one of the ALCS with Vern and Clyde and found out that Clyde and I share a love for Camron (no homo), we spent the rest of the night talking about how cool that dude is for surfing on a Lamby and wearing the best jackets. Fast forward to Wednesday, the day that the Cro-Mags and Violation were going to be the first live bands to play Nike Sportswear at the Montalbán Theatre on Vine in Hollywood. Our morning began with coffee and a trip to Indie 103.1 to appear on The Last of The Famous International Morning Shows with Joe Escalante. Joe is a fucking righteous guy who made us forget how tired we were with his wide smile and enthusiasum. He even mentioned Americas Hardcore which is kind of incredible and was foreshadowing because later that evening Casey Jones brought down an AHC shirt to hang underneath his painted leather (as featured on the cover of Radio Silence) in a plexi-glass glass greeting everyone who came into the show. Big thanks to Stephanie Savage for getting us on the FM dial that morning.
We knew that a ton of people RSVPed for the event but we had no clue how many humans would arrive. The first people we saw pulling up to the spot were Toby Morse and his son Max (the youngest and raddest member of the hardcore family). It was awesome to see Toby and meet his son, he was psyched and the feeling was infectious.

Aiken said his mother “still struggles with things quite a bit, but she’s come a long way.”
The magazine cover features Aiken holding his son, who was born in August. The baby’s mother is Aiken’s record producer, whom he met while performing on “Idol.”
Aiken, who considers himself a born-again Christian, said he knows he may turn off some fans — known as Claymates — with his admission and his decision to have a child outside traditional marriage.
“I’ve never intended to lie to anybody at all,” he said. “But if they leave, I don’t want them to leave hating me.

The film was a little discomfiting in certain parts because I know Michele and Gerren so well. Their relationship is so intertwined and sometimes it doesnt play as nicely on film as I know the love they feel for each other in real life. What mother/daughter relationship isnt complicated and filled with contradiction?
Also, having always wanted to model and having attended numerous fashion shows over at LA Fashion Week, I understand the demands the modeling industry places on women. It was just a little shocking to hear the Parisian modeling agents be so blunt about the reason models notoriously have been so thin. Its about the cost of fabric that the designer uses! The cool thing about Darryl is that hes such a laid-back, easy going guy who narrates so gently, youre not jarred by his disclosures, but educated and angered instead. I love that about him. What was absolutely jarring were the revelations that the majority of the practicing plastic surgery on the TV shows so many watch are not Board Certified! That means they havent passed the Boards to practice plastic surgery, often times arent even trained in these procedures, but E! Entertainment and all the other channels dont give a rats ass about the people theyre having carved up on national TV, only their ratings.
Now that may offend some of you from those shows, but give me a break. Are you really going to tell me that its ok that a Doctor who hasnt passed a State Board test is ok to slice and carve open people just because he says he can? And because theyre creating good TV? NO WAY JOSE! The interview with a woman weve known from TV who had a terrible surgery will just sicken your stomach its so chilling.
Now I am the first to admit I like plastic surgery. I had my nose done years ago and never looked back. I believe that in certain instances (mine was a deviate septum that I also had enhanced to look better) plastic surgery is ok. Its just become so rampant because of TV its insane!
This film blows the lid off so many aspects of the beauty industry its no wonder its receiving such great reviews. I really hope youll put it on one of your must see list of films to see this weekend because based on the return from this weekend it will determine whether or not they have a national release.
Be the trend setting country and city that I know all Los Angeleans are, and see this film. Youll be blown away. I promise you. I dont promise things lightly either. I really do mean this. It will blow you away.
I dont want to buy mainstream cosmetics any more. I dont want anything except natural products now after seeing this film. Hillary's speech answers the burning question that has been on the minds of her supporters since that Saturday afternoon when she suspended her candidacy—quo vadis? (i.e. dear girl whither go'est thou?). Are you still the war goddess we saw on the night of the South Dakota victory just waiting for the right opportunity to launch a counteroffensive; or have you abandoned the quest and if so why? The answer is neither. Instead, Hillary has decided to wrap herself in the tattered principles of the party, and the highest ideals of our nation, and to dare the rest of us friend and foe alike to follow her lead. In this safe haven, she finds personal and political salvation. She knows who Obama is and supports him only to that extent.

The more I think about it the more I realize that this is the right answer for Hillary. Consider the matter from her perspective: you have given everything you have to this ship of fools called the Democratic Party–everything. During the past eighteen months you made a clear, cogent and convincing case for your candidacy, your party and this nation. It resonated with the American People. You made them feel that they were a part of something wonderful which was about them and more than them. Big Media dismissed the historic nature of your candidacy but we did not. You re-energized women and caused conservative men to rethink the whole issue of women's rights at a time when this country needs all heads in the game. You connected with real people and changed the world for the better.

At the same time, what you have done for this country has come at a high personal cost– in terms of heartbreak, betrayal, and disappointment. We admire your commitment to duty and the self discipline it requires. But no human being is immune from such sentiments. Thus, we can only imagine how it broke your heart to see two of your closest friends and allies suffer tragic deaths in the days leading up to the Convention. Or to see your beloved daughter savaged by the likes of David Schuster and his MSNBC cronies. Likewise, we can only imagine how it felt to see people like Bill Richardson forget all you have done for them and turn their backs on you in your hour of political need—after they promised to support you. Or to be targeted by traitors like Dean, Pelosi and Brazille who conspired with the likes of Karl Rove to undermine your candidacy, and the standing of centrist Democrats in the party. Or insiders like Patty Solis Doyle who betrayed your confidence and made you wonder who you can trust. Finally we understand the bitter disappointment of winning the popular vote only to be cheated out of the nomination by the forces of corruption, and thus deprived of the rightful opportunity to do great things for the country you love.

The Democratic Party has made a fatal mistake in nominating Barack Obama to be President of the United States. Now they will do everything fair and foul to foist that mistake on the American People. They will hack voting machines in key states, they will lie cheat and steal, and they will launch the same misogynistic attacks against Palin that they did against you while Obama maintains plausible deniability. No doubt, you will do what you can to prevent this but it is not in your hands. Rather it is in the hands of people like Axelrod who are devoid of moral scruples and in the primary we saw the lengths to which they would go to disenfranchise voters. They are left wing ideologues of various stripes, their goal is to take over the country as they have the party and if they fail then they will try to make you a scapegoat.

These people cannot connect with the traditional base of the party and they know it. Therefore, they will cast you into the breach. They will ask you to sell their candidate to the same audiences who previously rejected him in favor of you. Then they will ask you to spearhead the attack against Palin to neutralize the gender issue. I hope you will tell them that Obama and Biden must sell themselves to these audiences—it cannot be done by proxy. Furthermore, I hope you refuse to attack Palin personally and confine the discussion to policy related issues. Everyone knows your candidacy is what made hers possible. And, you know that if you attack her on behalf of Obama then you will diminish the good will you have worked hard to establish with those audiences. Lest we forget, it is Biden's job as vice presidential nominee to handle any attack on Palin. If he is sane, sensible and sober, then he will keep it to a bare minimum. There are plenty of snarling hyenas in the press who are chomping at the bit to destroy any opponent of Obama for a Pulitzer, a promotion and a passport to hell.

We are your supporters and we are thinking Democrats—not yellow dogs. The party of Barack Obama is no place for centrist democrats. When Howard Dean calls the Republican Party the white peoples party, when the Chairman of the North Carolina Democratic Party tells black voters to not support white candidates, when Obama himself claims that people who live in small town America are bitter, cling to guns and religion, and when former Democratic Chairman Don Fowler hopes a hurricane will hit New Orleans during the Republican Convention something is clearly amiss. Furthermore, we know who is running the party now and what their real agenda is. Finally, we know who Obama is, who he is not and if he is elected then woe betide the country. We need leaders within the party who remember how things were before he took over and continue to fight for the American People. But the Obama cancer is metastasizing throughout the party and the only way it will be cured is through a sweeping defeat at the ballot box.

It is clear to us that this train is headed in the wrong direction. Therefore, we must step off and switch to another train for the time being. Yes, Obama talks a good game but if past is prologue then he will break his promises to the American people, and honor the ones he makes to big business and to a new coalition that does not include us. We are freer than you are in this respect, since we do not have a constituent base to serve, or a senate position to protect. We can flatly state that an Obama presidency would be an unmitigated disaster for the country. Consequently, we cannot possibly vote for him. So keep the torch lit dear girl, fight for us as best you can and lord willing we will rendezvous with you in after the election when Barack is beaten and this fever has passed. Until then we bid you a fond adieu.
